Here's one to stick away for next year. Our boy CJ has just signed on to be a guest at "The Steampunk World's Faire - a wild cavalcade of appropriate delights." The event, which will feature such interesting diversions as "the Chrononaut's Jubilee Ball!," will be hosted by a Temporally-Displaced Alliance of Steampunk Event Developers. It is scheduled to start on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 5:00pm and end on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 8:00pm. It will take place at the Radisson of Piscataway. And, of course, to see more details or to get right down to business and RSVP, merely follow the link below: http://www.facebook.com/n/ ?event.php&eid=155405365759&mid=

Tell 'em CJ sent ya!

September 1, 2009

And here's a first look at a new collection our boy CJ is in. The title of the book is Hellfire Lounge. It's a spin-off from the highly popular Wicca Girl novel written by R. Allen Leider. The final book will feature some five stories each from both Mr. Leider and CJ, as well as a few others from other notables. The publisher has told us that the stories are a mix of humor and terror, and this will be one of the more unusual collections in which CJ has ever appeared. We guess this is one of those times you can judge a book by its cover, or at least, its cover art (which, of course, the sharp-eyed among you will note was indeed completed by long-time CJ collaborator Ben Fogletto).

Here it is. The annoucement everyone has been waiting for. At long last, the third in the Teddy London series. And, what's more, The Sleep that Rescues is not a reprint of the old London #3. This is a brand new novel, never seen before, that comes in between the old second and third. This one features the introduction of the Pirate Queen, an international jewel thief who may prove more than a match for London. Once again, the world is at stake and the London Agency is the only thing standing at the brink of nightmare trying to hold back the insanity which would consume us all.

On sale, in book stores everywhere, Oct 1st. E-Yow!!

We’re not sure when CJ sleeps. Just received in our offices, this latest edition of Tales of the Talisman, featuring a new story from his Wezleski universe: "Your Honeymoon Will be Ending in 5 ..., 4 ...," This is a story of a inter-dimensional zeppelin captain who’s thinking of proposing to his girl ... an act which might just cause the collapse of the entire multi-verse! Oh, CJ, you so wacky.

This new collection from DAW, edited by the sensational Jean Rabe and the now legendary Martin H. Greenberg, contains a whooping eighteen new tales about the magic to be found in the hearts of the world’s greatest cities. Trolls as toll keepers on the George Washington Bridge, book-making in an alternate NYC, reflective gargoyles, leprechaun bank-robbers, and a sneak peak of our boy CJ’s latest series character, Piers Knight, are just a few of the surprises in this soon to be released collections. Besides our own lad of whom we’re so proud, it has tales by Timothy Zahn, Mike Resnick, Michael A. Stackpole, Margaret S. Lundock and a whole bunch more. Wow--they just keep coming.

Just to let you know, the first issue of Moonstone's new, Spider widevision comic, told in glorious black and white and grey (as shown below in the stunning artwork of J. Anthony Kosar). Our boy C.J. was chosen to do the first issue to kick off Moonstone's return to the character. Their first venture with the Spider in print was the short story anthology: The Spider Chronicles. CJ had three stories in that volume, and has been itching to get back to the character. Let's hope the book stays around because he's slated to return with issue #6.

If you’re one of the fortunate ones who did not buy the first edition of The Comedy of CJ Henderson, you’re fortunate. Finally a new, far superior version of this book has been printed, and is now available. But Seriously, Folks: the Off-Kilter Comedy of CJ Henderson is a real treat. Much like Star Trek’s famed "Trouble with Tribbles," it seems our boy CJ just can’t resist the lighter side. It’s fourteen of his funniest--featuring talking dogs and union ghosts, conniving jesters and tentacled torch singers, the world’s greatest dumplings, and everything from dinosaurs on the loose to time travel, food with bones in it, bilious clouds of monkey steam, and more laughs, giggles, and down-right knee-slapping hilarity that anyone would have ever suspected from the creator of Teddy London and Jack Hagee.

At long last, The Supernatural Investigators of CJ Henderson is in print, featuring thirteen more tales of those mortals brave enough to walk the unknown pathways. Fans of CJ will recognize most of the characters here: H.P. Lovecraft’s Inspector Legrasse, Lin Carter’s Anton Zarnak, his college professors Blakely & Boles, the opportunistic newsfolk of Challenge of the Unknown, Lai Wan: the Dreamwalker, and a number of others. But, this volume also features a brand new story of the members of Arkham-based Nardi Security, and a second all-new tale, this one featuring a sneak peak at his upcoming new series character, Piers Knight.

Not a new book, just a new look. The highly successful, not to mention award-winning, Bad-Ass Faeries has switched publishers. That means a new look. Of course, Bad-Ass Faeries2 is also moving, and the yet-to-be-released third volume as well. All the books will have a consistent look this time, and this is the first of the new covers. Those that didn't get this one in its first incarnation might want to do so now. The rave reviews keep coming in for the series, and the new publisher is already committed to at least five volumes. And as you might expect, the plan is for our boy CJ to be in every volume. Well, as it should be ... right?
