Wow, art coming in from all directions. The two covers below are for the next Kolchak: the Nightstalker project to be released from Mighty Moonstone featuring not only our boy CJ, but with him once again throwing poor reporter Carl Kolchak up against the nightmarish horrors of the Lovecraftian universe. The folks at Moonstone thought this was such a terrific project that they actually commissioned two covers for it. Considering that this is the big end to CJ's Kolchak/Lovecraft trilogy, we couldn't agree more.

Here's something that won't be coming out for a while, but we like to get the ball rolling here as soon as possible. The two covers below are, obviously, for a new Green Hornet anthology project coming out from Moonstone. Of course, our boy CJ has a story in this first volume (at present the feeling is there will be two different covers for the first volume, but this is not carved in stone yet), and should have one in all that follow. The rumor is the company was very pleased with his first effort, and are looking forward to more. Let's hope it's true!

Check it out, everyone. As you may or may not have noticed, elsewhere on this same page you will now find the official opening list for CJ Henderson personal appearances for 2010. It’s only the opening list for as you know, our boy adds shows and conventions all throughout the year, but these are all the ones we know about right now as rock solid and definite. Hopefully there’s one near you!

December 04, 2009

xWe showed you the art before, but now we're showing you the way it got used. The magazine is the latest issue of Space and Time, and it's cover story this time around is "The Mambo King of the Inter-dimensional Dance Floor." It's another tale from the wacky steampowered world of the Pelgimbly Institute for the Advanced Sciences, and it's by, of course, our boy CJ. And the art, as if we had to tell you, is by CJ's favorite collaborator, Battlin' Ben Fogletto. You can't get the issue here at the site, but head over to www.spaceandtimemagazine.com and pick one up.

Link to storeThose of you who live on the Northeastern coast of America may well have heard of Delaware’s Between Books, one of the last remaining genre book stores in the country. One of the greatest troves of sci fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, horror, mystery, comics and all things splendiferous, as its thirtieth anniversary approached, its owner decided to celebrate the milestone by publishing "The Stories in Between," a collection of tales written by authors who had not merely performed or signed there at one time, but by those who had come to think of it as their home. This truly remarkable book gathers our boy CJ along with the likes of Jonathan Mayberry, Gregory Frost, Patrick Thomas, Maria V. Snyder, Jonathan Carroll and a host of others who have provided a total of eighteen tales for this one-of-a-kind masterwork.

xWhen we first showed off the cover for "R. Allen Leider’s Hellfire Lounge," we thought that a book with an author’s name on the front cover would be at least mostly by that author. Not this time. Leider, creator of the wildly popular "Wicca Girl," has acted as editor in this case to put together a collection of horror tales based in his Wicca universe. And, where as he did write the introduction and all the connecting material that joins the stories in this collection together, he only wrote six of the stories, and two of them he wrote with our boy CJ! On top of that, CJ also wrote one with Richard Dean Starr, and seven on his own for a total of ten tales altogether. This volume contains a number of his hard to find printed-only-once-in-magazine stories, along with four all new ones! It’s almost like getting a new book of Henderson.

November 27, 2009

Link to storeWell, with folks always asking CJ when he’s going to do more vampire stories, what could he do but write a story for "Vampires: Dracula and the Undead Legions," a collection of all new vampire stories, with our boy doing the closing story featuring the king of the undead, Dracula himself. Other authors include the likes of P.N. Elrod, Bill Messner-Loebs, Martin Powell, Elaine Bergstom, Nancy Kilpatrick, L.A. Banks and more. Looks like fun for the whole family.

November 23, 2009

Hey, CJ fans, here's something different. For those of you who have never met our boy, the fine folks at Podioracket just posted an interview they did with him earlier this year. Follow the link and give it a listen.

November 17, 2009

xOkay, supernatural investigation fans, big news on the Kolchak front. Our boy CJ is working with Moonstone on a new, for the moment top-secret, Kolchak: the Nightstalker project. All we know is it's another spin for Poland's favorite occult newsman into the realms of the HP Lovecraft's mythos. All we have for you at the moment is the cover image, and even that is only in the black and white stage. Still, it's proof that there's more Kolchak coming from CJ!

November 3, 2009

xWell, for those of you who didn't know it, or thought our boy CJ was just a Cthulhu Mythos freak, here's the cover to a new anthology he's got a story in coming out early next year. It features a new Jack Hagee story by CJ, and David Black, author of THE EXTINCTION EVENT, and a writer for CSI MIAMI and LAW & ORDER had a chance to read an advance copy of the book, and he called it: "A ride-around with some of the best cops and best cop writing in the business!" Not too shabby for our boy CJ, eh?

xOctober 22, 2009

Typical way the world works. The new Dark Regions project featuring our boy CJ that we've been telling you about is going to be a three volume set. Well, we just got our preview of the host for the last volume, and it looks like one of those cases of saving the best for the last. This guy is the Gravedigger, and he'll be hosting the Cemetery of Madness volume. More CJ and more Fogletto. We've got our fingers crossed over this one.

October 21, 2009

xWe know you've seen the cover to Inhuman Magazine #4 earlier, but this is just a short note to let you know that it's out and available now. And, we were totally surprised to learn that it's twice as big as the previous issues, but still the same price! Allen K is making this one hard deal to resist! Especially when he keeps using our boy CJ.

October 10, 2009

xHere's another piece of this great new puzzle from Dark Regions. This time we've got the first advance sketch of The Bishop, who will be the EC-like host of Cathedral of Madness. CJ will be doing the comics and a prose piece, but word is now that the comic story that introduces these books will not be all the art. Apparently Mr. Fogletto will be doing a piece for the beginning of every story, having the host for that volume appear on the first page. Can't wait to see this stuff when it's finished.

October 1, 2009

xComing early next year will be a trilogy of books from Dark Regions featuring a retro, Weird Tales feel. The first (at least, the first at this point) will be "Carnival of Madness," and it will be introduced by the carnival barker, shown below. These books will be a combination of comics and prose, and promise to be quite interesting. Our boy CJ is slated to write all the comics at this point, along with publisher/editor-in-chief Joe Morey, and he'll probably be contributing some prose pieces as well. Just wanted to let you know our boy never sleeps--and, apparently neither does artist Battlin' Ben Fogletto!!

Click image above to view more art..
We won't waste a lot of time with chatter. You've seen the cover to CJ's upcoming "William Shatner's Man O' War," the comic based on the novel he did with Mr. Shatner some years ago. Well, we've gotten our hands on the first art to be released from the project. Enjoy!

September 28, 2009

xFor those of you who remember the very successful graphic novel, "Kolchak: the Lovecraftian Horror" done by our boy CJ, let us be the first to let you know that after selling out its first, and second printings, the good folks at Moonstone have decided to release not one, but two more widevision novels by CJ along the same lines. The first will feature a story taking place before CJ's first Lovecraftian widevision, and the second will feature a story that takes place afterward. The three will form a trilogy, and we're betting it's one that will be around for quite a while. Anyway, the artwork below is everyone's first peek at what's to come. And, don't worry, the books will be in color. We just liked the artwork so much the way it was we couldn't wait to get it out in front of everyone.

xSeptember 26, 2009

Here we have the cover art for the next (at least, we think it will be the next) issue of Space & Time. If you haven't heard of it, it's a great sci if magazine. The art is for our boy CJ's story, "Your Honeymoon Will be Ending in 5 ..., 4 ...," As if you couldn't guess, this is a story from his Pelgimbly Universe series. And, as the more astute members of our audience are certain to realize, the artwork is by long-time CJ collaborator, Batt'in' Ben Fogletto. We'll let you know, of course, when the magazine goes on sale.

September 16, 2009

xHere's some big news for Teddy London fans, at least those in the vicinity of the upper East Coast. The new "third" Teddy London novel, the first new London novel in over a decade, will be premiering this upcoming September 27th at most celebrated and famous multi-media entertainment center there is, the fabulous Between Books. There will be food and drink and other authors premiering books as well. It looks to be a terrific party, and we can't wait. We especially can't wait to get our hands on a new Teddy London novel. E-YOW!

xSeptember 15, 2009

Just a quick one this time. A little while ago we showed you the art for a new anthology that our boy CJ is in. Now, we have the (as editor R. Allen Leider says) "almost" finished cover. Now we can see who else is in the collection with our favorite author. The final tally is CJ has two stories in the book which he co-wrote with Mr. Leider, one story which he wrote with Mr. Starr, and five solo stories. And, the big news for us is that apparently their is one all new CT tale in the book, and it features the dragon from the cover. We are certainly looking forward to that one!

xSeptember 12, 2009

Here's something we've been dying to get ahold of show everyone. These are the first glimpses of the cover to The Reign of the Dragonlord. No more sketches. These are peeks at the actual oils for the cover to our boy CJ's first sword and sorcery novel. Only one of them here, but just click the link and you'll be able to check out the whole thing, along with a few words from the artist to CJ about how she feels things are going. Enjoy!

xSeptember 10, 2009

Here we go. It's the cover to the first issue of William Shatner's Man O War. What's our boy CJ have to do with this? Well, as he told us: "A number of years back I wrote two novels with William Shatner about a colony on Mars. Yes, I did sign a confidentiality agreement which guaranteed I wouldn't speak of our work together, but Shatner, class act that he is, went on TV and radio, more than once, and announced to the world that we worked together. So, I figure it's all right this once to say 'yes' I worked on something. He was a genuine pleasure to work with. He's got great ideas, really pitches in, and unlike a lot of the big and powerful, he listens. He'll argue a point, and he'll drive you into the floor if he thinks he's right, but it you can prove your point, you don't get fired and replaced, you get a pat on the back. He's a goddamned king among men, and it was great working with him, and it's great working with him again." Seems the folks at Blue Water think the world is ready for comics based on all of Shatner's novels, and so they're having them adapted. And, in the case of Man O War, Shatner and CJ are doing the adaptation together. We've got the finished cover here, and soon we'll have pages. If the comic is half as good as the novels were, we'll be making room on our shelves.

xSeptember 7, 2009

Here it is, the first glimpse (well, here anyway. Amazon scooped us good on this one) of the cover to the first book in our boy CJ's latest series. Brooklyn Knight stars Piers Knight, a curator at the Brooklyn Museum. He isn't a magic user, but he does know how to use magical instruments from the past. And, what greater repository of mystic artifacts is there than the Brooklyn Museum? Created for Tor/Forge, the leading publisher of science fiction and fantasy in the country, this one hits the stores in January. From what we've seen so far, this one looks like another great CJ Henderson series!

September 6, 2009

Hey, hey everyone, this is the announcement that everyone has been waiting for. Well, everyone with little kids, or who knows other people who have little kids in need of being totally corrupted by eldritch forces from beyond. YES–it’s back! Baby’s First Mythos is back in print. This amazing little book that could is back for the fifth time. And yes, as you can see on the cover, it’s still with X!

x

September 5, 2009

Another anthology coming soon with our boy CJ in it. This one is The Anthology of Dark Wisdom, being released by our good friends at Elder Signs Press. We don’t know who else is in it, we just know we really like the cover and, well, it’s got CJ in it, which is good enough for us (we’re not real picky, but we are loyal).

September 4, 2009

Well, a long while back we showed off the new cover for the anthology Bad-Ass Faeries. That book, along with its sequel, Just Plain Bad, were to switch publishers and come out in revised formats. Seems it took longer than anyone thought. But, the cover for the rerelease of #2 is finally here, and that means that the books are both on their way to the printers at last. Which also means that Bad-Ass Faeries #3 will be coming our way in a few months as well. We hear CJ's story for that one hasn't been accepted yet. Reading by the editors hasn't started yet, so keep your fingers crossed for our boy!

September 2, 2009

Here's one to stick away for next year. Our boy CJ has just signed on to be a guest at "The Steampunk World's Faire - a wild cavalcade of appropriate delights." The event, which will feature such interesting diversions as "the Chrononaut's Jubilee Ball!," will be hosted by a Temporally-Displaced Alliance of Steampunk Event Developers. It is scheduled to start on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 5:00pm and end on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 8:00pm. It will take place at the Radisson of Piscataway. And, of course, to see more details or to get right down to business and RSVP, merely follow the link below: http://www.facebook.com/n/ ?event.php&eid=155405365759&mid=

Tell 'em CJ sent ya!

September 1, 2009

And here's a first look at a new collection our boy CJ is in. The title of the book is Hellfire Lounge. It's a spin-off from the highly popular Wicca Girl novel written by R. Allen Leider. The final book will feature some five stories each from both Mr. Leider and CJ, as well as a few others from other notables. The publisher has told us that the stories are a mix of humor and terror, and this will be one of the more unusual collections in which CJ has ever appeared. We guess this is one of those times you can judge a book by its cover, or at least, its cover art (which, of course, the sharp-eyed among you will note was indeed completed by long-time CJ collaborator Ben Fogletto).

August 28, 2009

Here it is. The annoucement everyone has been waiting for. At long last, the third in the Teddy London series. And, what's more, The Sleep that Rescues is not a reprint of the old London #3. This is a brand new novel, never seen before, that comes in between the old second and third. This one features the introduction of the Pirate Queen, an international jewel thief who may prove more than a match for London. Once again, the world is at stake and the London Agency is the only thing standing at the brink of nightmare trying to hold back the insanity which would consume us all.

On sale, in book stores everywhere, Oct 1st. E-Yow!!

August 26, 2009

We’re not sure when CJ sleeps. Just received in our offices, this latest edition of Tales of the Talisman, featuring a new story from his Wezleski universe: "Your Honeymoon Will be Ending in 5 ..., 4 ...," This is a story of a inter-dimensional zeppelin captain who’s thinking of proposing to his girl ... an act which might just cause the collapse of the entire multi-verse! Oh, CJ, you so wacky.

August 24, 2009

This new collection from DAW, edited by the sensational Jean Rabe and the now legendary Martin H. Greenberg, contains a whooping eighteen new tales about the magic to be found in the hearts of the world’s greatest cities. Trolls as toll keepers on the George Washington Bridge, book-making in an alternate NYC, reflective gargoyles, leprechaun bank-robbers, and a sneak peak of our boy CJ’s latest series character, Piers Knight, are just a few of the surprises in this soon to be released collections. Besides our own lad of whom we’re so proud, it has tales by Timothy Zahn, Mike Resnick, Michael A. Stackpole, Margaret S. Lundock and a whole bunch more. Wow--they just keep coming.

August 20, 2009

Just to let you know, the first issue of Moonstone's new, Spider widevision comic, told in glorious black and white and grey (as shown below in the stunning artwork of J. Anthony Kosar). Our boy C.J. was chosen to do the first issue to kick off Moonstone's return to the character. Their first venture with the Spider in print was the short story anthology: The Spider Chronicles. CJ had three stories in that volume, and has been itching to get back to the character. Let's hope the book stays around because he's slated to return with issue #6.

August 15, 2009

If you’re one of the fortunate ones who did not buy the first edition of The Comedy of CJ Henderson, you’re fortunate. Finally a new, far superior version of this book has been printed, and is now available. But Seriously, Folks: the Off-Kilter Comedy of CJ Henderson is a real treat. Much like Star Trek’s famed "Trouble with Tribbles," it seems our boy CJ just can’t resist the lighter side. It’s fourteen of his funniest--featuring talking dogs and union ghosts, conniving jesters and tentacled torch singers, the world’s greatest dumplings, and everything from dinosaurs on the loose to time travel, food with bones in it, bilious clouds of monkey steam, and more laughs, giggles, and down-right knee-slapping hilarity that anyone would have ever suspected from the creator of Teddy London and Jack Hagee.

August 10, 2009

At long last, The Supernatural Investigators of CJ Henderson is in print, featuring thirteen more tales of those mortals brave enough to walk the unknown pathways. Fans of CJ will recognize most of the characters here: H.P. Lovecraft’s Inspector Legrasse, Lin Carter’s Anton Zarnak, his college professors Blakely & Boles, the opportunistic newsfolk of Challenge of the Unknown, Lai Wan: the Dreamwalker, and a number of others. But, this volume also features a brand new story of the members of Arkham-based Nardi Security, and a second all-new tale, this one featuring a sneak peak at his upcoming new series character, Piers Knight.

June 9, 2009

Not a new book, just a new look. The highly successful, not to mention award-winning, Bad-Ass Faeries has switched publishers. That means a new look. Of course, Bad-Ass Faeries2 is also moving, and the yet-to-be-released third volume as well. All the books will have a consistent look this time, and this is the first of the new covers. Those that didn't get this one in its first incarnation might want to do so now. The rave reviews keep coming in for the series, and the new publisher is already committed to at least five volumes. And as you might expect, the plan is for our boy CJ to be in every volume. Well, as it should be ... right?

Link to Store

April 7, 2009

Well, at long last, there are some new books in the store. Different problems have kept all of these titles tied up for a while, but finally the following three, editions we've been telling you about for quite some time are here. Click on their titles and you can go right to the store to make your fine purchase, or just read about them once more.

These books are, of course, as you can see:

Partners in Crime ...

Cthulhu Unbound ...

and the long-awaited, and so worth the wait ...

Deadly Dames.

Sometimes it takes a while, but they all come out eventually!
